Artist Spotlight: Stephanie Cobb

Stephanie Cobb is an artist based in Solomons, Maryland, where she also works as the Program and Exhibits Specialist at Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center. With an MFA in studio art from LSU College of Art + Design, and a BFA in painting from Savannah College of Art and Design, she has focused her professional experience in museums and nonprofit organizations in the art and science fields.

Cobb’s vibrant paintings represent private moments made public, featuring figures in personal and domestic environments. The subjects she chooses are closely tied to her personal experiences, allowing for a translation of intimacy only possible because of the closeness between artist and model. “The hope is to evoke with clarity our closeness, or our distance,” she explains.
