Photographer Spotlight: Thalía Gochez

A selection of portraits by Los Angeles-based photographer Thalía Gochez. As a child of Mexican and Salvadoran parents, Gochez draws most of her creative inspiration from her upbringing and heritage. “My work aims to highlight identity by honoring and prioritizing the subject’s story through an intentional yet stylized approach,” she says, explaining that building trust with the people she photographs is central to her art practice — “it’s important to me that the image-making is a joyous process, while focusing on creating a space that is fueled by love and respect and that also feels empowering.”
