Artist Spotlight: Sarah Miska

Los Angeles-based artist Sarah Miska delves into the world of equestrian competition in her recent paintings. Mirroring the precise aesthetic standards of English riding, she captures subtle visual cues of the sport in close-cropped, attentive detail. With the tidy perfection of her subjects and renderings, she alludes to broader themes of self-adornment, privilege, and performance. Miska’s work has been exhibited nationally, in both solo and group shows. In October 2022, she will present a solo show at Lyles & King, New York.
