Artist Spotlight: Andrew Sendor

With a fastidious attention to detail and impressive command of his craft, New York-based artist Andrew Sendor welcomes us into an imaginative world of his own creation. Featuring fictional characters, his monochromatic paintings tell stories derived from his unique creative process, in which he scripts, produces, directs, and documents performances recounting the life and times of his eccentric cast. “Representing scenes from these psychologically charged, hallucinatory narratives, each meticulously rendered artwork surveys the materiality of images and the interrelated history of photorealism and evolution of photography,” he explains.
