UK-based photographer Rob Ball captures the desolate English coastline during the off-season in his recent photobook, “Silent Coast” (Photo Editions Ltd, 2021). Devoid of people, Ball’s photographs capture an uncanny quietness that stands in stark contrast to the festivities for which these landscapes are clearly intended, exposing “the fragility that exists beneath the facade, a coast open to shifting economic forces and rapid environmental change.”
