In his recent series, “New York, Lately,” British-born, New York-based photographer Teddy Fitzhugh captures a city and its inhabitants as they re-emerge after several years in the midst of a global pandemic. Seeking out the subtle tensions and expressions of a city re-awakening, Fitzhugh wonders: “As we reawaken, how does this look when we step outside? How does this feel? How do we relate, in a city like New York, lately?” Started in early 2022, the project will be self-published through Fitzhugh’s own publishing platform, Attempt Majestic, in Spring 2023.
