From angels and aliens to deities and spirits, her dreamlike narratives are intended to mirror the uncertainty of our lived experience and provoke larger questions about the meaning of life and our place in the universe.

The Grim Reaper is a recurring character in her work. She is also heavily inspired by the mythology of ancient civilizations, particularly the way Gods and Goddesses served as answers to the mysteries of a meaningless world. Allan’s paintings similarly offer an escape from the absurdities of everyday life while providing the artist herself with a necessary outlet for working through so many of life’s unknowns.
