A selection of paintings by Paris-based artist Inès Longevial (previously featured here). Working mostly around self-portraiture, Longevial approaches painting like problem solving, attempting to capture the feelings and emotions projected on the skin. Longevial devoted herself to drawing from an early age and is particularly interested in the “pleasure of color and the part it occupies in our lives.” Her faces and bodies appear like landscapes in a dreamy universe, reflecting variations in light, shadow, and feeling in an act of self-affirmation.
