Artist Spotlight: Dan Isaac Bortz

A selection of paintings by Cleveland, Ohio-based artist Dan Isaac Bortz. Bortz runs Time Change Generator, a studio space specializing in hand-printed textiles. His personal work is metaphorical, though not always specific to a single message. While sometimes referencing his own dreams or personal anxieties, Bortz’s ultimate aim is to convey his enthusiasm for life in a way that sparks a similar kind of creative energy in others:

“I want to encourage the imagination. When we use our imagination more effectively it opens up the possibility for relating to one another. Imagination begets empathy. The images I make are one liners from my internal dialogue. They end up showing me how I really feel. They are Snapshots of rapid conclusions and Diary entries I want you to read.”
