“Afterburn” by Artist Jason McCrea

A collection of new paintings by Canadian artist Jason McCrea. McCrea’s debut show unfolds like songs on an album with each painting showcasing its own individual pallets and subject matter. His use of surreal colouring injects fantasy into reality. Combining subjects, both real and imaginary, McCrea creates space for more creative choices, trying new things and working through intuition. The result is a series that captures nuanced feelings, experiences of adventure, solitude, heartbreak and an overall excitement for life. In light of the excessive noise and uncertainty of modern life, “Afterburn” speaks to a spirit of resilience — encouraging a message of hope and inspiration to keep going.

See more from “Afterburn” below or on display at Ashdale Gallery from May 3rd – 17th.
