“Normalizations” by Artist Andrew James McKay

New paintings and etchings from Vancouver-based artist Andrew James McKay previously featured here. McKay was an active printmaker during his studies at the University of Waterloo and Emily Carr University of Art+Design. He has returned to the medium working under the guidance of master printer Peter Braune, owner of Vancouver printmaking studio New Leaf Editions.

“Normalizations” is his first solo exhibition in Vancouver since 2019. Interested in the capacities of realist figuration in an image-saturated era, McKay seeks an authentic and positive engagement with our reality in a time marked for many by disconnection, escapism, and encroaching pessimism. See more images below or on display at New Leaf Editions November 2nd to 29th.
