A selection of paintings exploring urban landscapes and human stories by Spanish artist Sebas Velasco. Recently on display as part of Velasco’s debut solo exhibition with the History Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina, “The Morning Will Change Everything” is inspired by the Sarajevo-based band Indexi’s song of the same name. The collection features a series of complex socio-economic narratives drawn from a decade of travel and research across the Former Yugoslavian countries. Velasco’s paintings depict car parks, residential streets, and portraits. An expressive celebration of his passions, Velasco’s compositions elevate moments of humanity and empathy, in a world confronting shifting ideas of territory and identity.
