I started photographing sculptures as a way of approaching the human body, but gradually became interested in the strange ambiguity of these forms.
A Body, Perhaps grew out of this curiosity, bringing together classical sculptures, mannequins, medical imagery and everyday objects.
Through cropping and unexpected angles, I play with how we look at bodies, and what we're allowed or expected to see. A marble backside becomes almost flesh, a hand covering a breast feels strangely provocative, and a medical image reveals more than the naked eye ever could.
I'm interested in that space between the sensual and the absurd, where a body becomes an object, an object becomes a body, and we're not quite sure what we're looking at anymore.
