Sarah Muirhead, currently represented by Pontone Gallery in London, is a Scottish figurative artist whose work is characterised by psychologically intense, voyeuristically-toned lens through which she explores the body and the unstable ground of memory. Her drawings and paintings feel devotional and often reference classical poses and contexts with an intense detail and connection to each subject whether it be a person she is connected to or a fictitious landscape with an apocalyptic charge. She was chosen as one of the UKs '10 Sensations' by a panel including Tracy Emin and Kirsty Wark and has exhibited internationally under-taking several commissions for institutions including Oxford University. Her recent two part solo Exhibition in London was the genisis of this body of work.
