A Wolf’s Wedding is a short documentary exploring Kabyle identity, cultural memory, and tradition in Kabylia, Algeria, approached through my personal connection to my stepfather’s family.
Alongside the film, I created a photobook consisting of photographs exclusively taken from the passenger seat of the car I used to travel through Kabylia. The images shown here are a small selection from the book.
Captured through the car window, often distorted by speed, they reflect the fleeting glances of an outsider passing through an unfamiliar place. Taken in moments when I felt comfortable enough to raise my camera, the photographs reveal both the landscape and my own fragmented perspective as a stranger and visitor, capturing the distance between observing a place and truly knowing it.
