Alius Photographic Rendering

Early in my career in the litho field I was a big fan of Roy Lichtenstein, LeRoy Neiman, Pete Turner, and Andy Warhol for their bold use of color and graphic interpretation. Years later, operating a very large graphic arts camera, I learned to accurately control the tonal range and contrast of images by varying the exposure and development processes.
I learned to control a bold process called posterization, the crude process of representing the entire tonal range of a picture using only a handful of tones. I experimented with this art form for several years in my own darkroom, eventually applying for a US patent. Twenty years later I transposed this process into proprietary digital imaging software that I named "Alius." Alius is my personal image rendering system. Alius is the perfect matrix between photography and artwork.
