My photographs reflect an ongoing sociological, anthropological and aesthetic interest in rural and interior America. I was born and raised in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota - a primarily suburban area with agrarian cultural and economic roots. The Heartland was never very far away, but I've never felt a full understanding or appreciation of it. These photographs are my attempt at cultivating a broader perspective.
