Anthony Chicco

My name is Anthony Chicco, a husband, father, and artist who has returned to my
childhood hometown of Canberra, Australia after spending formative years in the serene rainforest hinterland town of Murwillumbah, NSW.

My artwork is a reflection of my life’s journey—shaped by the hardships I’ve endured, from childhood abuse to a near-fatal electric shock along with the resurfacing of buried trauma. These experiences have driven me to create. My art is not only a means of processing these challenges but a declaration to myself of what I can achieve to find my peace.

My artistic practice became a foundation for profound breakthroughs, enabling me to reflect on and process my experiences through a deeply personal lens. My hands on approach to painting and mark making has led me on a fulfilling journey to reconnect with myself.
