Anthropomorphe

Love and hatred have shaped human history since ancient times, generating devotion and destruction. Sometimes they become so entangled that it is impossible to tell where one ends and the other begins.
Anthropomorphe explores this ambiguity. Through hand-painted analog photography and double exposures, I superimpose people from my life onto creatures that evoke terror and disgust, creating hybrid figures where the human and the monstrous merge. These images give form to the contradictory emotions inhabiting our closest relationships.
Familiar faces become unsettling, blurring the boundaries between attraction and repulsion, intimacy and fear. The project explores what happens when love and hatred coexist within the same relationship, and what once felt familiar becomes unrecognizable.
