This project is a homecoming and an exploration. Having been traveling to Gambia since childhood I’ve had the chance to experience the country as a citizen and countrymen. However up until recently, I had not picked up the camera. In doing so it not only changed how I see the world. But how I see, and now have the ability to document, the plight of my people. While Gambia to me is a paradise for the locals there is a born class structure in which everyone participates and in which young people are typically disregarded. Understanding the immense privilege I have to be a young person abroad in the opportunity’s I’ve had. The goal in this project is to document what it’s like for a young person in the Gambia. From the crowded cars, to the religious fervor, to having to accepting it all while still being seen as disposable and left
