‘Beauty in Chaos’

The brightest flame cast the darkest shadows. In a world that seeks beauty and idolises creation, the role of destruction and chaos is overlooked. Who determines the standards of beauty on a societal level?

Beauty in Chaos depicts two figures, Idris Elba and Zendaya, that are deemed beautiful by society with a chaotic medium and application of said medium. Both celebrities are scratched onto the surface of paper using a method I now refer to as ‘forkwork’. Forkwork, working with a fork, is an expressive method that is imprecise, and welcomes abstraction and chaos that comes with its nature.

This series is a call of awareness and a question to the standards that are given to us that are easily accepted and go undisputed. There is always beauty within the midst of chaos. I invite you to look for the beauty in the chaos.
