We are surrounded by eyes. Cameras, feeds, thumbnails, previews. We constantly observe and consume fragments of other people's lives, tastes, and identities. There is something voyeuristic about this way of looking, and I am no exception.
I collect images from across the digital world, where imagery accumulates faster than anyone could consume in a lifetime. I think of this as digital waste: images that hold our attention momentarily before being replaced or forgotten.
Through digital collage, I bring these images into new relationships, allowing meanings to emerge alongside their original ones. I then translate these compositions into paintings, investing time and labor into images that might otherwise disappear into the endless flow. In doing so, I assign them a different kind of value and physical presence.
