Bicycle Diaries, Death Is Image is a series of long-distance rides, where motion, music, and sudden reflections combine into small episodes of presence on the road.
I'm an independent filmmaker and musician, and over the past year I've been making a series of short films while traveling long distances by bicycle through North America and Europe.
The films are about what happens when you spend a long time moving slowly through the world: solitude, attention, discomfort, unexpected encounters, landscapes, music, and so on. Somewhere between travel documentary, personal essay, with quite a lot of random silliness and, if you will, some spirituality too.
