Blood Rave

This project is from a Blood Rave centered around Milwaukee’s goth scene. As culture becomes increasingly flattened by sterile digital spaces and algorithmic trends, this community remains fiercely tactile. They anchor themselves in physical, visceral rituals—from summer boat parties drifting into Lake Michigan and an annual Goth Prom, and this recent "Blood Rave" inside a historic theater, where hundreds danced in stark white under a choreographed deluge of synthetic blood.

The rave was inspired by the opening movie sequence of the 1998 cult classic Blade. Hundreds of attendees—near midnight all began chanting, "We want blood." The night of dancing culminated in a choreographed "blood drop" over the crowd, demanding a visceral, collective experience.
