Rosalux Gallery, 315 W48th street, Minneapolis, MN
Terrence Payne’s exhibition “BODY PILE” responds to the attacks on his neighbors since Operation Metro Surge began in Minnesota over the past year. The values, creativity, and dreams of many in his community have been trampled in favor of the grievances of those who claim entitlement due to their identities as male, Christian, and white. “BODY PILE” aims not only to document the crimes committed by ICE, but also to celebrate the independence, empathy, and love exhibited in the face of such brutality. ICE thought the dim light of their convictions would be a beacon to bring the nation to their cause, but instead it has rallied the courage in our communities who have come together to protect those they would hope to harm.
