Artist brothers Christoph and Sebastian Mügge invite visitors to a darkly humorous party at the end of the world, inspired by the decadence of the 1920s and projected onto the escapism of our own time.
The site-specific installation brings together sound, objects, text and drawing in a sensory, lavish whole, where contemporary forms of escapism, historical parallels and apocalyptic moods converge. A surreal time capsule takes shape, in which glittering surfaces collide with a creeping sense of collapse. Entertainment and seriousness go hand in hand in a work that uses dark humour and playfulness to raise questions about crisis, collective amnesia and the powerless pursuit of pleasure in contemporary society.
