Chromatic Inward Peering

03.12.19 —

An interplay of stylistic constraints and personal symbology drawing out subconscious and spontaneous imagery has been a large part of my art process developed over 14 years. I am inspired by both the patterns found in everyday urban life, as well as nature’s universal patterns on both the larger and microscopic scale.

'Chromatic Inward Peering' is a series of paintings and sculptures done between July and October 2019 as part of the 'CHROMAGLASSA' exhibition at Space Gallery in Vancouver, BC (a two-person exhibition with Amanda Smart). Through abstracted points of perspective, combined with personal motifs and symbology, this series is a type of phenomenology and an exploration of my own psyche.
