Cityscapes by Casper Faassen

The cityscape series is based on traditional cityscapes by famous Dutch 17th century painters like Jan van Goyen en Jacob van Ruisdael. The first cityscape that came about was ‘View on Leiden’ after Van Goyen’s famous painting of Casper’s hometown, Leiden. Museum de Lakenhal, where this work from 1650 is on view, recently also acquired Casper’s version.
