Conceptual Illustrations

This body of images are essentially editorial pieces. These illustrations are inspired by current events, based on what I read and see in todays political, and social climate. They are essentially social commentary on issues such as censorship, climate change, war, wildlife conservation,
and mental health. These illustrations are a poetic response to real world issues.

The heavy black lines and flat color are heavily influenced by 90’s skateboard graphics, graphic design, and comic book cover art. I want viewers to read the imagery quickly although walk away a bit inquisitive. My work attempts to bridge the visual narrative approach of cover art with the conceptual aspects of graphic design. Much how a logo encompasses the entire ethos of a company in one icon, these illustrations attempt to hold multiple meanings.
