Cooking on Volcanic Stones — Uros People, Lake Titicaca

This series offers a glimpse into the everyday life of the Uros people on Lake Titicaca (Peru), focusing on a simple moment of cooking over volcanic stones. I wanted to capture the scene as it was, without artifice, allowing the gestures, textures and surrounding environment to speak for themselves.

I paid particular attention to the positioning of the people within the frame and to the way their bodies interact with the landscape. The smoke became almost another subject in itself, creating layers, movement and a sense of depth. Through the balance of color, composition and atmosphere, I wanted to transform an ordinary moment of daily life into something quietly poetic.
