Submission Painting

corps sans organes

We live in a time when each of us is presented as a story known in advance, when identity is discussed in verbal and narrative terms. and the encounter between people is decided before it has taken place. A body with no narrative is testimony for no side, and so it can belong to everyone. I paint an image that precedes identity, a kind of primal ancestor from whom we all descend, and what remains in the encounter with it is a common human denominator, bodily presence, before it has woven itself a position or an identity.
A presence of humanity that we all share, and one that should be viewed before we start our narrated views on others.
