‘Crustacean’ explores the mise en scene of an idyllic seaside afternoon—a study into its subtler emotional manifestations across four different countries, all of which are situated by oceans. The photos never visually depict those bodies of water. Instead, they offer seaside ‘atmospheres’ of the country from which they originate—nostalgic photographic representations of seagull calls, sounds of swirling water by promenades, and smells of fresh crustaceans.
