The cyanotype is an alternative photographic process with a rich history. It was invented by chemist John Herschel, popularized in botany by Anna Atkins, and later used for architectural blueprints. The traditional cyanotype process is great at capturing the outlines of plants but not much else. Here, I've developed an upgraded process that turns the cyanotype into something of a plant X-ray, borrowing from my backgrounds in botany, chemistry, and toxicology.
