This work is a visual play on the proverb "Don't make the devil more terrible than he is."
I wanted to deconstruct fear. The figure has all the attributes of a demon - horns, skull-like face, hooves, claws - but rendered in a pale, grainy white with toxic red and blue accents. Her pose is not aggressive, it's performative. Her eyes are tired, not evil.
