Submission Collage

That makes me

I make collages as a way of putting life back together from old pieces, much like memories are formed. Torn photographs, faded magazines and discarded scraps once belonged to someone’s life. I wonder who they were, where these objects travelled, and how they came to be forgotten. I combine aged materials with bold colours, torn paper and geometric forms, creating a dialogue between memory and the present, preservation and reinvention. I rarely begin with a fixed narrative; I let the materials guide me into a new story. Each work begins with “That Makes Me…” followed by an emotion or state of being, inviting viewers to find their own connection. Whenever possible I use second-hand frames, giving forgotten materials a renewed life and story. Together, they become fragments of a story reborn.
