Antonis Kalavrezos (b. 2000) is a freelance illustrator and concept artist based in Greece.
He was always curious about the human body as a subject matter and how I can challenge the viewer by deforming, stretching or completely destroying the human figure (mainly as a concept).
Having this idea as a base of his work he blends elements of grotesque, dark, horror and surreal imagery with a strong focus on the figures/creatures. By doing that he wants to evoke a feeling of melancholy, sadness and uneasiness by having the viewer constantly challenged by the overall atmosphere and disturbing compositions.
What are those creatures? What are they feeling? Are they friendly? Why do they look like human beings? Are some of the questions that may come to the surface as we look at the paintings/illustrations.
