Decolonial Minimalism (art book)

Decolonial Minimalism by IJWBAA (Paul Hafalla) is a visual manifesto and art book reclaiming indigenous Filipino mythology, identity, and textiles through geometric abstraction. Stripping away colonial tropes, the project distills ancestral heritage—from figures like the Anitun Tabu to traditional Binunghay weaves, and Barong Tagalog/Baro't Saya—into sleek, elemental forms.

Each spread pairs a minimalist visual work with an essay exploring decolonial sovereignty and ancestral geometry. Published as a square 6x6 hardcover with a debossed geometric cover on matte archival paper, it is released as a limited edition print and digital archive, bringing pre-colonial folklore into contemporary global design.
