Over the last 20 years, Turkey has entered a deeply stressful socio-political period. As members of the new generation, we, as the youth, have been the ones most affected by this shift. Disparition reflects the feeling of becoming lost in the emptiness of nature, distancing ourselves from the changes we have gradually grown accustomed to, and rediscovering ourselves at the very center of what existed long before us. It is a portrayal of feeling adrift within the formations of the world itself: a bittersweet realization of ease and belonging, yet accompanied by the distance from what we usually call “home.”
These photographs were taken over the years in various regions of Turkey, from the barren plains of Anatolia to the striking natural landscapes of the Black Sea region's impressive natural beauties.
