Works on paper, digital pieces, and paintings explore desire, obsession, nostalgia, and identity. My practice is currently rooted in drawing — graphite, colored pencil, and mixed media — with stylistic inspiration drawn from the cartoons and comics of the late 90’s and early aughts, as well as the strange and playful media of weird internet subcultures.
A rambling conversation on gender, sexuality, digital culture, and consumer society, these pieces are a response to the trials of balancing love and joy with passion and fervor. The work traces how action and identity are shaped by systems that use our instincts against us. Rather than condemning deviant tendencies as unproductive, it insists on their generative potential: that lust, humor, and obsessive fanaticism can be reimagined as forces for connection and change.
