Dreams Happen After Dark is a series of night photographs that feel like stills from films whose stories have been lost. Travelling alone, often in cities whose language I don’t speak, I walk at night looking for the moments when reality becomes denser, stranger, almost fictional. Streets empty out, and tiny things take on an immense presence: the hum of a neon light, a drop of water, my own footsteps. Light shifts perception, and the world seems to hold more than itself. No one appears in these images, yet everything still carries their trace. Shot in Asian megacities and small American towns, often with coloured flash in camera.
