Emmylou Smith is an emerging fine artist and illustrator based in the United States. She creates watercolor paintings that bring historical figures and old stories to life with an aim to revive history for the modern eye. She combines stylized realism and the surreal to reimagine myths, folklores, and historical figures. She is deeply inspired by the Golden Age of Illustration, classic and ancient stories, nature, and the classical books she listens to while she paints.
Outside of her illustration career, she has experience teaching foundation art courses at a community college for five years and worked as an art coordinator in a corporate setting where she helped artist’s prepare their work for print. She now creates full-time showcasing her paintings in art galleries around the U.S and freelances her creative services.
