Entre chien et loup

How are places and the self connected, and how do we navigate ourselves within our environment?
The title of this project refers to the French expression entre chien et loup, which describes the in-
between moment between day and night—a transitional time when forms blur and certainties begin to shift.
In this project, I explore this transitional zone as both a mental and visual space. It is a moment in
which light and darkness, recognition and estrangement, flow into one another, and where the
boundary between the familiar and the threatening becomes unclear. “Between dog and wolf”
symbolises this ambiguity: a state in which safety and danger can no longer be clearly
distinguished.
I am particularly interested in themes such as
the notion of home and belonging and how the desire of these manifest themselves in our daily
lives
