We live in a culture that celebrates the appearance of well-being: smile, produce, function. But when the mind begins to crack, the environment steps away. Distress is hidden, disguised, turned into silence. In a context where socio-health structures fail and fragility is romanticized, pretending becomes a survival strategy.
This project emerges from that tension. The images do not illustrate illness, but rather the ways of sustaining oneself within it. Bodies fold in on themselves or merge with soft structures and chromatic fields that operate as refuge and shield. Color is not ornament: it is system and signal; it allows one to remain visible without being fully exposed.
