FACadE is about farms (and the people and animals that live there) in the Dutch-German border area that have an abstract face. In this area, the district of Borken/Germany (where I grew up) and the Achterhoek/Netherlands, there are many farms with this kind of abstract screaming face in the facade of the stable part of the farmhouse. It appears in the background of all the pictures, while in the foreground people and animals try to tell a little story. As a child I used to see these faces in the facades and later as an adult it came back to me and I wanted to do a project with it.
