Finding My Own Happy Ever After

"Sanctuary"

My name is Madi, and I tame monsters.
My 100% hand drawn, ink based illustrations use fairytale imagery to represent a coexistence between us, and our own monsters. We can show ourselves love, practice tenderness with our own damaged edges, and shed light on our own shadows.

As a survivor of bushfires, PTSD, depression, and emotional abuse, I've chosen to tell my own story; a story of healing, of hope, and resilience. I am currently working on my first publication, "Lost Then Found," and selling my work online, and through galleries.

The piece pictured, "Sanctuary," uses the iconography of Notre Dame, and the famous scene in Hunchback of Notre Dame where Quasimodo claimed sanctuary, as a basis for the journey of this work, a desire to find surer footing, a soft, safe space to land, and heal.
