For the Love of Food

Miriam Figueras. I was born in Barcelona in 1983. In my work, I use a combination of techniques and means to get as close as possible to realism. The base is always watercolor, followed by the use of colored pencils and pastels, to finish with graphite. This set of materials allows me to create dimension and capture the shadows of each element. I create my illustrations from photos and books that I own or borrow in libraries.

I am interested in the minimalist work of a piece in a white environment, because of the subtlety and the force it conveys. My work is the process of evolution and part of the desire to combine the passion for drawing and gastronomy. To rediscover my love for disciplines that have been part of me throughout my life and depict the food's daily miracle as seen throughout the world.
