Futuro Remoto

This project is a reflection on the conditions of the Science Center of Città della Scienza Museum, 7 years after the arson that destroyed the cultural site. In Bagnoli, a suburb of Naples that was already harassed by steel mills and false political promises, a future in which to hope appears increasingly distant. This place, to us, it's always been black & white. Restoring the lost parts and rediscovering what is not seen by introducing dirty black spaces, burnt white spaces, in the overall contrast, creates a void to rediscover the whole thing. A choice that adheres but at the same time transcends the temporal and spatial dimension of this very complex place where, inevitably, past and present are the same story. The series takes its name (lit. "Distant Future") from a scientific event that took place in the now-burned area.
