Drawing from an analytical background followed by a professional career in photography, I started painting in 2019 and soon hard-edged geometric abstraction became my preferred visual language.
Bauhaus and Op Art are the most influential artistic styles in my works, where I often make use of mathematical precision to draw the sketches that my final paintings are based on.
In my paintings I’m especially focused on exploring the relationship between geometric precision and the expressive potential of color - this is, I guess, a reminiscent of my professional photography days, where I used the controlled power of artificial light to emphasize the shapes, colors, expressions etc of my subjects.
