Ghost Notes examines how punk culture endures in Derby as both historical movement and living force. Commissioned by FORMAT Festival, Déda and Derby QUAD for 'Dancing Through Time', this work combines medium-format photography and oral histories to explore how subcultures shape local identities and challenge societal norms.

Through intimate portraits and extended conversations, photographer Francis Augusto documents how punk's DIY ethos has evolved across generations whilst maintaining its core values. Captured in significant spaces—from historic venues to community print workshops—the work reveals punk as a complex social ecosystem where people create meaning through shared practices.
