“Glass Eye” is an evolving body of work, exploring the communicative value of texture. I began this series looking to capture the abstract configurations within the materials I was drawn to. As I've delved deeper into this project, I have begun to explore the ways textiles and other materials can add meaning to recognizable shapes and give objects new context. Though not a direct commentary on plastic use, nearly all of the featured materials were thrown away by someone else.
